Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Colossians 4:2 (AKJV)
Scripture alerts us to be on the watch because there’s an enemy out there who’s set on pouncing at us when we least expect it. But that’s not the only alert for us to be on the watch for.
Scripture also alerts us to be on the watch because there’s an assault of God’s goodness all around us constantly pouncing at us in fashions and designs that least look like God is in them. When Jesus was born as a babe only his parents and the shepherds were watchful enough to see and know and hence welcome this God who put on flesh.
Be on the watch for God’s goodness, for God opportunities, for God relationships, for God ministry, for God purpose, for God provision, for God promotion.
It very often comes in people, places, conditions, circumstances, challenges, and even crises that don’t at all in any way shape or fashion look like God is in them.
