My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God’s truth, don’t write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God. James 5:19-20 (MSG)
Jesus came to seek and save the lost. We were all lost and there are no degrees of lostness where some are more lost than others. Therefore we shouldn’t write off either ourselves or others we think are beyond the reach of God’s saving and restoring Grace and Mercy.
The LORD says, “Now, let’s settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool. Isaiah 1:18 (GNT)
On the Cross God in Christ fulfilled that. The Blood of Jesus is able to wash away the darkest sin stains and cleanse the sinner to a white as snow saint. It’s not the depth of sin but the depth of the effectiveness of the redeeming power of the Blood of Christ and what it has already accomplished that we should emphasize in reaching out to and helping those in error and sin. Indeed like the song says, “Jesus Blood can make the vilest sinner free”
