For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, [that is,] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man [from] the two, [thus] making peace, Ephesians 2:14-15 (NKJV)
Here Scripture calls the law enmity. This is because the law condemned all of us to death. The law kept man not only at enmity towards God but also towards fellow man. The Jews who claimed to know and keep the law were constantly rejecting and resisting God. Then they rejected and renounced the rest who were non-Jews as wicked, uncircumcised heathens. The Jew called the Gentile dog. The Gentile also despised and hated the Jew. So there was enmity between the two.
By fulfilling the law’s demands and putting it away, Christ destroyed the enmity and created us both Jew and gentile in One New man – the in Christ man, the New creation man.
Therefore there’s no more description or status of Jew or gentile but one New man – the in Christ man, the New creation man.
