But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13 (NKJV)
Do you always feel like you’re disconnected, like God is far away, that at best He’s watching you from a distance? That’s an illusion and not true at all. Do you feel like you have to first sorrowfully tell God a million times about everything wrong about you and every sin you and your ancestors ever committed before God can give you attention and turn to you? That’s a very ungodly feeling.
The Blood of Christ not only washed away all our sins that were a barrier that distanced us from God but also cleansed our conscience from that sense of ” I’m guilty, unworthy, inferior, rejected so I can’t come near God, I’m far removed and away from Him.”
The Blood of Christ speaks and appeals to our conscience that we are washed, cleansed, and worthy, accepted, and valued in God’s presence. This is what being near God is all about. It’s not a physical distance issue but a mental attitude. It’s not an issue of “oh I feel His presence He must be here, oh I don’t feel His presence, and He’s not here”. Nearness to God is an established reality in Christ through His Blood. Being established in it and experiencing it is a result of renewing our minds with these truths in the Word.
