Psalm 1:2-3 (MSG) Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.
The Word of God is spiritual food for the wellbeing of our entire person – spirit, soul and body.
We do not live by natural physical food alone but by every Word of God.
So just as we eat every day to nourish our bodies we need to eat so to speak the Word of God every day to build and strengthen and energize the whole person spiritually, mentally emotionally and physically.
In order to get the most and best out of food it has to be broken down by chewing it – especially meat, you really have to chew some more. Likewise to get the life, wisdom, strength, help that’s in the Word you got to chew on it.
Meditation which is speaking to yourself as you ponder is how we chew the Word.
Take a Scripture, read it then take time to ponder over it as you speak it to yourself over and over. As you do this because the Word is Living it’s life will flow in you. You will experience peace, understanding, strength and direction and all this is the ability of God that brings fruitfulness which is success in everything you’re involved in and do.
