Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant–dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ. Philippians 3:8 (MSG)
There are two ways of living; the old inferior hard and painful way of DIY – Do It Yourself, and the New superior easy and peaceful way of Christ doing all in and through you.
The first way results into death which includes insecurity, not enough, disappointment, uncertainty, lack, tiredness, dissatisfaction, frustration, misery, and failure. The second way results into life which includes peace, joy, confidence, rest, assurance, refreshment, satisfaction and completeness.
We should withhold nothing of the old DIY of living but rather surrender all of it and in its place lay hold of the New where we allow Christ to live His Life in and through us. This we do by letting go of the old way of thinking and yielding to the New way of thinking. Let go of thinking in terms of me, myself and I, what you can achieve in your own human understanding and striving and lay hold of thinking in terms of what Christ can do in and through you.
