who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all [his] idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. 2 Timothy 1:9 (MSG)
You do not merely exist here on earth; neither are you just passing through.
You were not just saved to go to heaven but as our theme Scripture says – God first saved us then called us to this holy work. He gave to each and every one of us an assignment. You have an assignment to carry out. Your usefulness and fulfillment is tied to your assignment.
When you find out what your assignment is and follow it through then you’ve found your true joy and satisfaction in life.
For it’s more blessed to give than to receive. See-Acts 20:35.
When you’re carrying out your assignment you’re giving. That is you’re giving of your life, love, time, gifts, talents, experience, and resources.
Your assignment isn’t what you do for a living. It isn’t what you do to get something out of as a return.
Your assignment is what you’re gifted to be and do to help someone else be what they were created to be and do in life. This is what brings the greatest joy and fulfillment in life.
The qualities, gifts, abilities, you have are a key to what your assignment is.
Romans 12:6 (AMPC) Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them.
If your assignment is to give then you’re gifted with generosity. See-Romans 12:8. if it is giving, then give generously.
If it is teaching them you know you’re already gifted with teaching gift.
What are your gifts, abilities, passions, strengths? The answer to that question reveals what your assignment is.
