I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” Luke 6:47-49 (NLT)
Whether you do something or do nothing you’re nevertheless doing. Whatever you do you’re building and everything is built on a certain foundation.
There’s a foundation that lasts and one that doesn’t last.
The only foundation that lasts forever is the one set by God Himself the principal and ultimate builder. It’s the foundation of His Word.
God built everything by His Word. Hebrews 11:3 (AMPC) By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.
Everything God does is based or founded on His Word. God upholds all things with the foundation of His Word. See-Hebrews 1:3.
The Word of God is eternal or abides forever.1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.
It thus provides an eternal foundation. When we therefore build on the Word we are building on a firm everlasting foundation and our work will last long term.
On what foundation are you building on your thinking, attitude, life, relationships, education, training, carrier, work, business, and finances?
Let what God says be the blue print, reference, yardstick and counsel of each and every one of your undertaking.
