My Brethren, pay no servile regard to people [show no prejudice, no partiality]. Do not [attempt to] hold and practice the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ [the Lord] of glory [together with snobbery]! For if a person comes into your congregation whose hands are adorned with gold rings and who is wearing splendid apparel, and also a poor [man] in shabby clothes comes in, And you pay special attention to the one who wears the splendid clothes and say to him, Sit here in this preferable seat! while you tell the poor [man], Stand there! or, Sit there on the floor at my feet! Are you not discriminating among your own and becoming critics and judges with wrong motives? James 2:1-4 (AMPC)
We are not what we have – whether lots of or lack of money and material possessions. We are not how superficial sighted society sees and statuses us – whether high class or low class, educated, or uneducated. We are who God intended, imagined, created, and redeemed us to be – His loved, and highly valued children. This is how we ought to view, receive and treat each other. According to our theme Scripture how we treat all people is part of our practice of the Christian Faith. To be Christian is to be Christ like. Christ never despised, dishonored, or discriminated against any one. He viewed, received, and treated everyone He met as the Father’s own special possession. He greatly valued, and celebrated all of us. He laid down His life for every one of us.
