1 Corinthians 1:26 (GNT) Now remember what you were, my friends, when God called you. From the human point of view few of you were wise or powerful or of high social standing.
Right from Bible days till now in our time almost everyone that the Lord calls to His purpose gives this excuse that ‘I’m not worthy, I can’t, I’m not able, I don’t have the means” – in other words “I’m not qualified”.
But that excuse is uncalled for.
God Himself fully knows us and also fully knows what He has called us to.
It takes a God kind of ability to accomplish a God kind of task.
Whatever God calls us to do can only be carried out using God resources.
A God vision can only be fulfilled with God provision.
When God gives us a mission, He also supplies the means of carrying it out.
So we don’t have to look to our limited, ineffective, natural, physical, mental, experiential resources.
Abraham said I have no child, he saw he was old and his wife also old and barren. They were unqualified for being the ancestors of multitudes of people. But God called them to that purpose anyway.
Moses pointed out he couldn’t speak yet God called him to tell a tyrant to let go of His people and to teach a stiff necked people the ordinances of God.
Mary expressed a humanly, morally legitimate concern that” how shall it be since I know no man” when Angel Gabriel told her she shall bear a Son.
All these were empowered by God to do the humanly impossible. For with God all things are possible.
Perhaps you are also disqualifying your self for God’s calling, giving the excuse that “I’m not educated, nobody knows me, I don’t have the money, I’m just a woman, I’m an introvert, I lack the experience, I’m too old, my past is so shameful”
When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet, he disqualified himself saying “I can’t talk for I’m a youth”. See-Jeremiah 1: 6.
What’s the Lord’s response to this low self esteem prophet?
But the LORD said to me: ” Do not say, ‘I [am] a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I [am] with you to deliver you,” says the LORD. Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: ” Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. Jeremiah 1:7-9
Likewise if you feel inadequate, ill equipped and incompetent for what God wants you to accomplish this is what the Lord of the work is telling you:
“Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 12:11-12 (NKJV)
Whatever task or challenge you are brought to, do not worry how to take it on based on natural human wisdom, ability, or resource for the Holy Spirit will help you.
