The Lord has appeared of old to me, [saying:] ” Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV)
Many times in His Word God talks about loving us as a decision and action He began in eternity past long before the foundation of the world, but which is ongoing and continues into the eternal future.
Rarely does God say I love you or I will love you. It is always I have loved you. In our theme Scripture the Lord says I have loved you.
God so loved the world that He gave; See- John 3:16. Jesus tells us, “As I have loved you, love each other” See – John 13:34.
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you… John 15:9. Father God has loved us as He has loved His Son Jesus Christ – John 17:23. The Father loved His Son Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world – John 17:24. In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us -See Romans 8:37. We live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us -See Galatians 2:20.
There has never been a time or moment where God who is love hasn’t loved us. There will never be a time or moment that God who is love will stop loving us.
There has never been anything we did to get God love us. There can never and will never be anything we do to stop God loving us. His is an unconditional and everlasting love. Everything of God and about Him is everlasting because He Himself is everlasting. Since God’s love for us has it’s beginning in Him in eternity past, it continues in Him into the eternities to come. It is unending love. It is not based on anything we did or didn’t do. God’s unending love for us means His unending salvation and sufficiency for us. It means His unending presence, power, and provision in our life. It means His unending faithfulness and favor to us. It means His unending care and counsel for us. It means His unending redemption and righteousness. Father God’s Grace and Goodness and Mercies over you are unending. Thank God for His unending love for you.
