Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, but oddly, when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed on where he was for two more days. John 11:5-6 (MSG)
The sum total of everything God wants you to know, believe, walk and live in is this – God loves you! That’s the Good News or the Gospel in three words.
However so many people have this question “If God loves me how comes He’s nowhere to be seen when I most need Him”
In the movie “The Shack” a man gets to meet God and raps Him on how He’s known for abandoning those at their worst moment when they need Him the most. That He even forsook His own Son on the Cross! But then the man is thrown aback when in God’s open hands are the same crucifixion nail print scars like those in Jesus’ hands. The message is loud and clear. Father God never abandoned Jesus on the Cross but was right there with and in Him.
All of Jesus’ life and ministry it was the Father in Him doing the works. John 14:10 (AMPC) Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).
God was personally present in Jesus on the Cross.
2 Corinthians 5:19 (AMPC) It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).
When Jesus cried my God my God why have you forsaken me He was crying our cry. It was the cry of all humanity because He had taken on Himself our lost state. He was experiencing what we felt as sinners – the sense of being separated from God. But God has never left or abandoned anyone of us. Right from the fall in the garden it’s man who’s been running away and hiding from God. It’s Adam who ran to hide when he heard God. God loves you, He has never left nor forsaken you, He will never leave nor forsake you. What you’ve gone through or are going through may shout out loud that you’re forsaken and may even perhaps cloud your senses but it cannot shut out or negate the reality of His presence in your life. All you need to do is remain in the light of unfailing love that the Cross of Christ shines. Circumstances can’t prove God’s love for you only the Cross of Christ does so always focus on God’s love for you by continually looking to Jesus and what He has done for you in His death and resurrection.
