I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
To be crucified is to be cut off, to be separated. Therefore when we were crucified with Christ, we were separated from our former way of being, thinking, living, and behavior. Every ungodly trait we inherited from Adam was cut out and off from us.
The flesh (human effort of mind and body) with its passions and desires has been crucified. Galatians 5:24. We are now liberated and free to totally rely on Christ’s strength and wisdom in us and so express and exhibit the new godly, holy, spiritual desires and pursuits in our reborn heart.
We should see and therefore conduct ourselves as free and separated from sin, the world and all evil. We ought to consider and carry ourselves as one with Christ – righteous and holy in Him. This is how we walk and live in this New Way and Life.
