Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalms 55:22 (NIV)
You were created and tailor made not to carry a load of cares but the Lord who cares.
What we carry becomes our Lord and surely lords it over us. When we carry cares they become our lord and they are an oppressive lord.
The Lord wants us to cast our load of cares on Him. He’s able to carry it all and dissolve it all.
We can only know and experience peace when our mind is set on the Lord and not in trying to figure out what we are going to do about what’s troubling us.
Jesus said cares are thoughts we can take or carry. We take or carry these thoughts by saying.
Matthew 6:31 (KJV) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Just as we take or carry thoughts of cares by saying them we can also take or carry thoughts of peace and sustenance by saying them.
We cast our cares on the Lord by exchanging and replacing the thoughts of “why is this happening, what am I going to do, where is it going to come from, how and when is it going to happen” with thoughts of ” The Father knows me, He knows what I need, He cares for me, He’s my Source, He’s my Help and Helper, He’s done something about this, He’s my provider and has already provided”.
