Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men, Psalm 140:1(NKJV)
Deliverance is not only from Satan, demons, troubles, addictions or situations but even from people! Beginning with Cain who killed his brother Abel, there has always been evil and violent men in the world. God delivered Joseph from his brothers who wanted to kill him. Daniel, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego were delivered from the evil and violence of ungodly men. It was evil and violent men that seized and crucified Jesus. But His death and resurrection provided the ultimate deliverance for us – Colossians 1:13. Because there’s still evil and violent people always planning evil in their hearts, we can always look to and expect from the Lord deliverance. Paul who probably experienced the most and worst of evil and violence from ungodly men urged believers to pray for him that God delivers him. 2 Thessalonians 3:2 (NIV) And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. Therefore, whether it’s neighbors or colleagues at the work place, or competitors in business or even relatives God will always deliver you from every evil, violent intent and plan of men.
