For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (NKJV)
It is not okay to fear, it is not a normal part of life. We should not accept and tolerate fear but rather stand against and resist it. Fear is more than an emotion or symptom, it’s a spirit. It’s a spirit of bondage. It’s not from God.
You are a child of the Most High. You’re free because children are not slaves in their parents’ home.
The Spirit you have received is the Spirit of Sonship. He’s the same Spirit in and upon Jesus who’s the first born in a family of Abba Father’s Beloved Sons and Daughters.
The spirit of fear, binds, weakens, cripples, limits, brings defeat, causes sickness and kills. Reject and resist fear like you do sin and the devil. Do not identify with it or own it.
Fear is not yours; it is of and from the devil. It is wrong to say “my fear of public speaking, my fear of the dark, my fear of water” Some people talk about embracing their fears, others learn to live with their fears, yet others boast of mastering their fears. Don’t embrace, learn to live with, or Master fear. Get rid of it totally. You do this by first acknowledging that like sin and sickness, fear doesn’t come from God, it is of and from the devil. Treat fear the same way you treat the devil.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NIV) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
Be alert, watch out against the slightest show up of fear, and resist fear by standing firm in the faith. You resist, you live and walk free from fear by living and walking in faith. You live free from fear; you walk in victory over fear by living and walking in the Word of God because it’s the source of faith.
