3Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
5Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:3,5(NKJV)
Everything that we need, want, and desire has already been made available and accessible to us in the realm or world called the Kingdom of God. Long satisfied life, great health, fulfilled relationships, realized dreams, wealth without sorrow, are all in God’s Kingdom. This is so because all of God – all He is and has, is in His Kingdom and the good news is that this Kingdom is not far from us, it is in our midst. Nevertheless, much as God’s Kingdom is right before our eyes not everyone is experiencing it or even sees it!
Our Lord Jesus Christ told Nicodemus a chief among Israel’s religious leaders that unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. He explained further that unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into God’s Kingdom.
Though the Kingdom of God is near everyone it’s only those who are born again who can see it and enter it. It’s only when we are born again that we are able to see and enter into or share in God’s Righteousness, Peace, Joy, Power, Life and everything that He is and has.
To be born again means to be born of God. It means to be a child of God. We are born as children of God by believing in Jesus. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
Faith in Jesus is how we get born into the family of God. It’s how we connect with God; it’s how we get into this everlasting relationship and fellowship with God and His Kingdom.
Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
When we become children of God through faith in His Son Jesus Christ, God sends the Holy Spirit into our hearts who continually gives the inward witness or knowing in our hearts that confirms that we are God’s children. Romans 8:16. Because we are children of God, we are His heirs. Romans 8:17. We are heirs of God, together with Christ. God Himself, all He is and has is our inheritance. All this happens when we are born again.
The life, love, righteousness, peace, joy, wisdom, blessing, and power of God all are the inheritance, the possession of every one of us who gets born again.
