Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] For brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:1 (NKJV)
All of us believers in Christ are His body. Dwelling together in unity means being interconnected and in harmony.This is how we stay whole and are perfectly and fully functional.Jesus prayed for us to be One as they Father and Son are one. John 17:21-23. That’s being of the same mind, that’s agreement. That way there’s nothing we set out to do that we can’t achieve. Genesis 11:6.Unity is likened to oil. Psalm 133:2.Oil is fluid. It flows continuously and evenly. In unity we flow in purpose and pursuit. But where there’s division, we get clotted then we are stuck and stagnant.Unity is likened to dewPsalm 133:3 [It is] like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; Dew typifies freshness. There’s always a renewed freshness of vision, energy, and resolve when we are of the same mind. But when we are divided, we lose focus, are weakened, and stay in the old and stale.Finally the blessing (empowerment to prosper) of the Lord is released where unity reigns.Psalm 133:3….For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
