He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! Isaiah 50:8 (NIV)
The Lord doesn’t accuse or bring charges against us, He’s not fault finding towards us, neither is He always searching for and pointing out what’s wrong with us. The Lord is not against us. Yes as our judge the Lord is actually our vindicator. He’s after supporting, upholding and even aggressively enforcing our right and blamelessness. Because in Christ on the Cross God condemned our sins and made us right with Him. Jesus was delivered over to death on account of our sins but God raised Him because we were justified or made righteous.
See the Lord as your vindicator, your justifier, the one out to fight for and prove your innocence.
