To prophesy is to speak what builds up, encourages, and comforts under divine inspiration – 1 Corinthians 14:3 As believers we have the Holy Spirit in our life and He’s always helping us function in the power and wisdom of God. One way He does that is by inspiring or enabling us to say words that are filled with and release God’s power and wisdom to help us. As we give thanks and praise God we yield our heart, mind, and tongue to the Holy Spirit. Then He gives us in our hearts and mouth words of power and wisdom which we speak and thus bring strength, encouragement, and comfort to others as well as to ourselves.
