He is your praise; He is your God, Who has done for you these great and terrible things which your eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 10:21 (AMPC)
Praise is a step up above and ahead of everyone and everything else. As we praise God we stand out since to praise the Lord is to declare in affirmation that God stands out above and beyond everything else. Praise is proclaiming that God is over all and in all. The Hebrew name Judah means praise. Let’s look at what it means to be Judah or praise from God’s perspective.
Genesis 49:8 You, Judah, your brothers will praise you: Your fingers on your enemies’ throat, while your brothers honor you. (MSG).
When we live a life of praise, our families, those around us praise or honor us. Praising the Lord brings us honor, even before men. As we praise, we hold our enemies by the throat meaning they are subjected under our control!
Genesis 49:9 You’re a lion’s cub, Judah, home fresh from the kill, my son. Look at him, crouched like a lion, king of beasts; who dares mess with him? (Message Bible).
Brother and sister Praiser you are like a lion, fresh from the kill. When you live a life of praise you are always fresh. This means newness of life. It means always being updated, relevant, and effective. It’s a known fact that lions prefer and will only eat freshly killed meat. It’s only in rare, hard and dire circumstances that they will go for what’s not fresh. You are always anointed with the oil of gladness above everyone around you. Psalms 45:7. Always anointed with fresh oil. Psalms 92:10.
The lion is king of beasts, no one dares mess with him. Praising the Lord at all times is living as a king, ruling in life, no one dares mess with you!
Proverbs 28:1 says the righteous are as bold as a lion. A righteous life is a praise life, it’s a bold, confident life!
Genesis 49:10 The scepter shall not leave Judah; he’ll keep a firm grip on the command staff Until the ultimate ruler comes and the nations obey him. Kings hold a staff or stick called a scepter. It’s an emblem of dominion, authority, power. As we keep on praising the Lord declaring testifying affirming his lordship, dominion, authority, power goodness, mercy, love, grace, wisdom, we are exercising dominion, authority and power. We are reigning in life over spirits, schemes, and circumstances. Therefore praise the Lord at all times in all things.
