He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5 (AMPC)
Our salvation from start to finish is a one hundred percent God performance, no input from man. There’s absolutely nothing we did in the first place to get Jesus come die for our sins and then rise for our justification. It was all of God. While we were still helplessly lost in our sins God loved us and sent His Son who was the means of our redemption-see Romans 5:6, 8
The same way our salvation began is how it continues to the end till the day we meet Jesus face to face. Colossians 2:6(NKJV) As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him. This means that the very same exact way we received Jesus or Salvation (Jesus = Salvation), is the very same exact way we continue in this salvation. We received Jesus freely as a gift from God.
We are therefore to continue in this free gift of salvation.
Salvation includes forgiveness of sins, no condemnation, being made right with God or righteousness, deliverance, healing, preservation, safety, prosperity. All this God freely gave to us in His Son Jesus Christ.
For instance, forgiveness of sins is not a work you laboriously strive for, crying out and begging God for. It is a free gift that Father God has freely richly poured out to all people.
God already personally present in Christ forgave the whole world. He is not holding the sins of any girl, boy, woman, man, family, clan, tribe, nation against them. 2Corinthians 5:19. It’s not true like some think, say and act that God freely saved you but now that you’re inside you have to strive to make sure you stay inside and not be disqualified and cast out. We did not choose God, He chose us- see John 15:16.
Stand tall and confident in your salvation knowing that it is all of God and not your works.
This is how you’re going to walk and live and enjoy this salvation.
