I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord–but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me. John 5:30 (AMPC)
The secret to success in life is right judgment or making right decisions. Right judgment or making right decisions is a result of hearing God. The counsel, instruction or wisdom of God is in our hearts. When we pay attention to God’s counsel or wisdom in our hearts we make right decisions.
Jesus lived the most successful life because he always made right decisions. He always made right decisions because He was, always hearing what Father God was saying to Him.
God takes pleasure in our prosperity or well-being. Psalm 35:27.
So, everything He tells us is for our progress. Hearing God is for our own well-being.
God has something to say about our life, relationships, work, career, ministry that will bring about the fulfilment of His good master plan He has for us. Father God has sent the Holy Spirit in our hearts so we may know the things that have been freely given to us. 1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Everything God has for us we can access it as we listen to the Holy Spirit speaking to us and leading us from within our hearts. We hear God first and foremost by hearing His written Word. Any thought, word, dream, vision, prophecy, revelation, teaching, spiritual manifestation that’s not in agreement with, or can’t be proven in the Word of God is not from God. The Word of God is His thoughts, intents, and plans.
Secondly, we hear God by listening to our hearts. God sent the Holy Spirit into our hearts, He dwells in us, He speaks from within us. Galatians 4:6 And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”
The Holy Spirit in our hearts speaks with a knowing. He gives us a knowing, an intuition, a prompting on the inside. So, we hear God by paying attention to and following or acting on the knowing or intuition or prompting in our heart. When you sense that knowing in your heart that move, wait, say something, leave, keep quiet, pray, the right godly thing to do is act on it follow it.
