Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately–no excuses, no arguments–and earn their own keep. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (MSG)
Every one of us has been gifted and given abilities which we can engage, use and release to serve and be fruitful and profitable to God and fellow man and in turn also reap a harvest of returns on what we are giving out.
It is God’s best for everyone one of His children that we are engaged in meaningful and profitable work.
Right from the beginning God created man and placed him in a garden to work it, and tend it.
Fruitful labor glorifies God who has given us life, a world in which to express it, and has endowed us with strength, wisdom and skill to do business.
When we engage in profitable work we are able to live in a way that is independent and self-supporting.
Moreover we can be in position to help those in need otherwise how could you help another when you yourself are still in need?
Therefore love work, engage in honest gainful business and live unlimited and unashamed having all your needs, wants and desires met.
