“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds [it] empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV)
Nature does not tolerate vacuum. Anything empty has room and calls for anything to be brought in. When our lives are empty of God then there’s room for the devil to come in. When our minds are empty of the thoughts of life and wholeness then there’s room for the thoughts of death and destruction to come in.
When and where light is out, darkness comes in.
So one can’t say I don’t need God and I won’t give heed to Satan. There’s no such option as no life and no death at once. Do not be an empty house. Do not let your mind and life be empty of God, of light, of life. If you do, the opposites – devil, darkness or death will force their way in. Only a filled place can’t allow for more to come in. Always be filled with the things of God.
Let your heart and mind be filled with the thoughts of life and light. Dwell on and be obsessed with what is of peace, a good report and a favorable outcome. Then there will be no place or space for evil in your life, house and world.
