13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
18For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Ephesians 2:13, 18. (NKJV)
Do you ever think, feel, or have you been made to believe that God is far from you? That’s not true, it’s all a lie from the enemy. God’s not far from you! God and you are as closest as can be!
Acts 17:27 (AMPC) So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us.
But what about my sins you may ask. You might even quote Isaiah 59:1-2 (AMPC) Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
Oh thank God for Jesus Christ the Lamb of God that took away the sin of the world! John 1:29.
Jesus came and died for our sins on the Cross, then He rose from the dead and we were made right with God. Romans 4:25.
When man sinned, it created a great gulf between him and God. Not that God has ever left man because even in the garden where man fell when he transgressed, God was there looking for man who was running and hiding himself away. Throughout the generations of man in scripture we see God reaching out to man who’s always running away and hiding because of sin.
But in Christ God dealt with sin destroying its hold on man. Romans 8:3.
Christ is the bridge; He bridged the gulf that was between man and God. This gulf was man made and was on man’s side like in the parable of the prodigal son, it was the son who had distanced himself from the father. The Father never abandoned the son, he always held him dear in his heart.
In Christ, through Faith in what He did for us on the cross we who were far off have been brought near. We have been reconciled with God through the Blood of Jesus Christ.
Through Him we have access by one Spirit to the Father. Jesus and what He has done is the bridge, He’s our connection with God. Jesus and what He finished in redeeming us is our access to all of God’s blessings. Don’t go by feelings to find out whether God is with you, do not look to what’s happening to prove whether God is involved in your life. Look to Jesus, to the Cross, the shed Blood and you’ll find assurance of God’s presence and participation in your life and circumstances. Jesus is the bridge He’s, our connection.
