And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), 27 So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:26-27 (AMPC)
A boundary is a line which marks the limits of an area or extent of something; a dividing line. Throughout the Bible, God told people and nations what their geographic boundaries were. As long as different groups respected the boundaries, they could live peaceably together.
A life without boundaries is a dangerous life. Boundaries are not hindrances, they are freeing. You have the liberty to be all that God called you to be. Secondly boundaries make decision making easy. Like a multitude of counsellors, there’s safety in boundaries. Boundaries are like safeguards. Job 1:10- there was a hedge around Job and all he had. Boundaries also create a balance in life, each day has its own worries, you don’t need to transfer your work home; picking calls, emails at night. We ought to avoid worrying and instead put our trust in God to take care of the rest.
Even the earth was created with limits, most of the things we see have limits Proverbs 8:29. Boundaries create control, create perspective- a vision specifies, defines narrows down.
You might say all things are lawful to me; but not all things are beneficial for you.
1 Corinthians 10:23 (AMPC) All things are legitimate [permissible—and we are free to do anything we please], but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable, and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life].
Ask God to show you areas in your life where you need to apply some boundaries. Is it on your time, Work, relationships or finances?
