Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and] [it is] certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 (NKJV)
Contentment can’t be found in the temporal things of this world. Time and space render everything physical in this world to last only for a short while.
Much as our human appetites always want more yet they’re never satisfied.
Proverbs 27:20 (NIV) Just as death and destruction are never satisfied, so human desire is never satisfied.
Therefore contentment is a deliberate conscious choice. As long as we have food and clothing – the fundamental basic needs we can live contented.
The ability to choose to live content begins with knowing and reverencing God.
When God is first and everything in your life, then you have chosen contentment because only God fully satisfies.
Be content by choosing godliness or knowing and respecting God.
