For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 (NLT)
The love of money means making money or material possessions your god whom you obey and serve. When you’re controlled and driven by money or material possessions you’ll end up doing anything and everything. You will be dishonest, you’ll lie, cheat, exploit others, manipulate, steal and even kill. Then all this will lead to piercing others and yourself with many sorrows.
The antidote for and the only way to overcome the love of money is to know, believe, be filled and influenced with the Love of God.
Our hearts were created and designed to be filled and influenced with the Love of God. It’s the Love of God that holds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14
The Love of God will cause you to rest and be content in God while trusting Him for what you need, want and desire.
