In all labor there is profit, but idle talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 (AMPC)
To labor is to apply yourself, your mind, physical strength, time, gifts, skills to something useful and beneficial to others. Through being useful and beneficial to others, good things come back to us as profit. We give of our abilities, time, and resources and it’s given to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, put into our bosom – Luke 6:38. This is part of God’s original vision for all of humanity from the beginning in the garden of Eden. Genesis 2:15 (AMPC) And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it. We all have a garden, a world, to tend, guard and keep. This refers to our place of gifting, area of service, location of expertise, station of work, calling, business, ministry, career. Find out what you’re built for and diligently apply yourself there. That’s where your profiting is located. [It is] the hard-working farmer [who labors to produce] who must be the first partaker of the fruits. 2Timothy 2:6 (AMPC)
