There is a way [that seems] right to a man, But its end [is] the way of death. Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV)
The way that seems right to a man is the judgement by outward appearance. It’s being totally governed and led by the senses instead of the spirit. It’s making decisions based on what you physically see and hear, what you emotionally feel and what you can mentally, logically reason. The end or result of this way is death which includes hurt, frustration, disappointment, failure, loss and destruction. Romans 8:6a calls this way being carnally minded. But there’s the way of life ending in life which includes peace, joy, rest, victory and wholeness. Romans 8:6b calls this way being spiritually minded. It’s judging and making decisions from your heart or spirit. It’s following and acting on the knowing and witness in your spirit – Romans 8:16. It is following the peace in your heart – Colossians 3:15. This is what Jesus called righteous judgement – John 7:24
