The LORD [is] near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18 (NKJV)
When the Lord tells us to call upon Him -Jeremiah 33:3 it doesn’t mean He’s far from us. The Hebrew word for call also means to address by name. You normally address by name those people who are close to you. The Lord is so close to us relationally and in proximity that we can address Him by name. The Lord is the closest nearest help and support in any situation and that’s why He urges us to call on Him, to turn to Him, to look to Him, to rely on Him. The Lord is near to those who call on Him doesn’t mean He’s far from those who don’t call on Him. It means those who call on Him find out that He was always there even before they called because He always answers. The Lord is your nearest closest next of kin. Address Him by His Name Jesus.
