The first rest mentioned in the Bible happened after God had done and finished His work – Genesis 2:1-3.What God had done and finished was very good.Genesis 1:31 True rest is the result of the good that God does.It’s according to and basing on this revelation that the psalmist says ” return to your rest my soul for the Lord has been good to you”It’s the goodness of God in our lives that causes us to rest. It’s His being with us, watching over us, caring for us, helping us that rests our heart, mind, and body.One rich man thought his soul could find rest in what he had done, gathered and stored for years to come. But God called him a fool because the man had no security for his soul – Luke 12:16-20 Look to and trust in the Lord’s goodness over you and around you. It’s how your heart, mind and body can truly rest.
