“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Matthew 7:15-16 (NKJV)
Fruit isn’t an immediate right away result. It takes time and patience.
Therefore to find out the true nature or character of something or someone give them time and be patient.
Many believers ignorantly and erroneously judge and treat people who have just received the truth as not genuinely converted because they are still behaving wrong. Their misguided judgment is based on their misunderstanding of this statement that you shall know them by their fruit. But fruit takes time to show. Whether good or bad, fruit takes time to come up. Therefore never rush to conclusions about people because of some wrongs they’ve committed without adequate thorough knowledge of where they are in their life and walk.
The fruit that we should very much alertly watch for is the fruit of doctrine. Actually when Jesus told us that we shall know false prophets by their fruit He was majorly pointing at their doctrine. Wrong, evil doctrine or teaching produces wrong and evil belief which leads to wrong and evil actions and living.
You know whether what’s being preached, taught, prophesied is life and peace if that’s what it produces in your mind, actions and living. If what’s being proclaimed and instructed leaves you fearful, anxious and confused then don’t touch that, instead run away from it because that’s a tree of death and so is it’s fruit.
