3 Let them praise your great and awesome name— he is holy. 5 Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. Psalm 99:3,5 (NIV)
Holiness is the sum total of all God’s attributes. It’s everything that God is. So, God’s holiness is His “wholeness”In the Old Testament sickness (for example leprosy) was referred to as uncleanness. The person with leprosy was not holy, he was unclean. When Jesus came and met the lepers He healed, made clean or made them holy. This glorified God, it was worship to Him.Worship is expressing every attribute of God. Its expressing God’s wholeness. The attitude of forgiveness (knowing God has forgiven you and forgiving others), kindness, generosity, integrity of heart, soundness of mind, wellness of body, purity of motive, sincerity of action, pursuing healthy relationships, are all attributes of holiness. Living and walking in them is worship.
