We are to exercise and apply ourselves in the Word of God through these three disciplines; reading, exhortation or preaching, and teaching or doctrine.
The reading of Scripture includes studying it.
It is as we read and study the Scriptures that we gain knowledge, understanding, and revelation. This is how the ability to act on and apply Scripture comes.
The preaching of Scripture or the Word is how we help others receive, believe and act on it.
The teaching of Scripture is how we help others understand it, apply it and be established in it.
Therefore every individual believer, every minister, every fellowship of believers, every worship or church service should put more emphasis and attention on, put more time and practice into these three disciplines – reading, preaching, and teaching Scripture.
