Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” John 6:26-27(NKJV)
Thank God for the physical, material, earthly benefits we get from fellowshipping with the Lord. Thank God for miracles, blessings, prosperity and success. But that shouldn’t be all there’s to what we get out of our walk with God. The physical, material and earthly is superficial, temporary, subject to change and doesn’t fully satisfy. It’s the unchanging, eternal, spiritual benefits that we should set our hearts on. A godly life full of peace, rest, inner assurance and contentment should be our pursuit. Knowing the Lord and walking in His Will should be the purpose of our devotion.
