looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2(NKJV)
Jesus means Salvation and included in this Salvation is healing, health, wholeness, deliverance, provision, liberty, safety, and preservation.
As long as our eyes are on Jesus we are seeing our Salvation – we are seeing our healing, health, wholeness, deliverance, provision, liberty, safety, and preservation.
Jesus told Nicodemus “And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have Eternal Life” John 3:14-15(NKJV)
The Israelites who sinned in wilderness and we’re bitten by venomous snakes got healed when they looked to the bronze serpent which God instructed Moses to put on a pole.
This was a picture of all of us bitten by the more fatal venomous snake of sin looking to Jesus who was made sin and hung on the Cross being made free and whole from sin all it’s effects and consequences.
So turning eyes on or looking to Jesus is believing Him.
