Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Psalms 20:7-8 (NLT)
Chariots are the works of men. They are man’s inventions, including all machinery and technological advancements. Horses refer to natural physical strength, advantage, and skill. All these have their place in helping and serving man. But they can’t be relied on seeing they are subject to error and failure. The Name of the Lord represents the infinite, unfailing everlasting divine attributes. To trust in the Name of the Lord is to build, and run your life including your conduct, values, relationships, and work on God’s character. This is because His Name is His character. He never fails, He is faithful, He never changes, He is Almighty, He is more than enough, and He is everlasting.
