The writer of this Psalm is greatly distressed by his enemy and God seems indifferent and silent to him so he cries out to God “how long will this go on?” In verse three he asks God to light his eyes or give him understanding.In verse 5 he receives understanding that trusting in God’s unfailing love is how we overcome trouble.The way we put an end to the stressful thoughts of “where are you Lord in all I’m going through” is reminding ourselves of God’s unfailing love for us. The way we overcome trouble is by trusting in God’s unfailing love, encouraged and confident that in His faithful endless love the Almighty is with us and for us therefore nothing can finish us.
