The Word command also means an instruction that activates a device like a computer.
What God says to us, commands us to do, are the prompts or signals that activate and drive life. God’s commands are words of life.
The Scripture has said that receiving and treasuring God’s words or commands is how we find the knowledge of God. Real fulfilled life flows from the knowledge of God – John 17:3. The knowledge of God is the knowledge of (union with) life, peace, safety and wholeness.
Let your attitude about God’s commands or commandments change from seeing them as orders or rules to keep from a distant impersonal deity and see them as signals that activate and drive life.
The things He tells us to do, say or think, are the things by which life runs right. The things He tells us not to do, say, think or walk, are the ones that ruin life.
