[Let] the high praises of God [be] in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand Psalm 149:6 (NKJV) Praise is one of the weapons of our warfare that are mighty in God – 2Corinthians 10:4 The high praises of God in the mouth of saints is a two-edged sword in their hand. Praise is actually the Word of God prevailing in our mouth as we declare who He is and what He has done. The Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than a double-edged sword – Hebrews 4:12. As we praise God according to His Word, we release power that pierces through and destroys all the bondage and oppression of the enemy. When we praise the Lord who saves, delivers, and heals, salvation, deliverance, and healing are manifested. Praise is executing God’s vengeance and punishment on the enemy. Praise binds and restrains the enemy. Psalm 149:7-8 (NKJV) 7To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; 8To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron. The city of Jericho fell before Joshua and Israel by praise, as they shouted in obedience to the Lord’s command – Joshua 6 In praise we participate with God in executing His judgements or decisions in the world. Psalm 149:9 (NKJV) To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD! When we declare the mighty works of God the enemy is silenced. The preaching of the Gospel is actually praise, proclaiming God’s great work of salvation
