The Hebrew word for breath also means spirit. God breathed into the man He formed out of earth and man became a living being. Everything that has breath means everything sustained by the Spirit of God. So, when you praise the Lord, you’re acknowledging and declaring that you’re sustained by the Spirit of the Lord. Praise is releasing the breath of life, of peace, of joy, of strength of wisdom, of victory. The Spirit of God in us always stirs us up to praise as He inspires us to tell the mighty works of God – Acts 2:4,11 Therefore praise the Lord, tell of His goodness and greatness, for in doing so you’re breathing out life, peace, joy, healing, power and wholeness.
