Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. Galatians 4:21-22 (NIV)
Law and Grace aren’t just doctrines or topics of study out of the Bible.
They are the difference between struggling and thriving, stress and rest, failure and victory, curse and blessing, death and life.
Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman, and the other by a free woman. The slave woman or Hagar is a picture of the law. The free woman or Sarah is a picture of Grace.
A slave is under bondage and always toils painfully to be accepted and earn a living. This is what it’s like to live under the law. You’re always in bondage trying to be accepted, valued, and to produce results by keeping rules and regulations you will never be able to fulfill.
A free person is free indeed. He doesn’t have to painfully labor in order to be accepted, valued or produce results. His acceptance, value and productivity is based on relationship and fellowship like a son in the home. This is what it’s like living and walking under Grace. Are you doing a lot, slaving strenuously yet seeing too little or nothing at all? That is an indicator of law living. Get over into Grace living where you freely rely on relationship and fellowship with Father God and effortlessly experience freedom, fruitfulness, and fulfillment.
