While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
Mark 5:35-36 (NIV)
Jairus a leader of a Jewish synagogue had come to Jesus and asked him to come heal his daughter who was at the point of death. Mark 5:22, 23.
While Jesus was going there a woman with chronic bleeding intercepted Jesus and got healed. Mark 5:24 – 34. In the course of Jesus ministering to that woman Jairus’s daughter died. They come and tell Jairus the bad news. One translation says ” overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus tells Jairus do not fear only believe. Simply put, “It’s going to be alright” That’s God’s language no matter the situation. This is how faith sees and speaks at all times in all circumstances. This is the victor’s language.
Reaching Jairus’s house Jesus found confusion and loud crying, but this did not change his attitude and declaration of “it is going to be alright” for He told them, why cry?, the girl is not dead but sleeping. Mark 5:38-43. Even in the face of a seemingly impossible situation do not forget to pay attention to the voice of him who is always with you, the one with whom all things are possible saying ” it is going to be alright” It surely turned out alright for Jairus and his daughter for Jesus raised the girl who was dead back to life.
