Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: [” Fear] [not, daughter of Zion;] [Behold, your King is coming,] [Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”] John 12:14-15 (NKJV)
In fulfillment of prophecy Jesus entered Jerusalem as a King – Zechariah 9:9. But unlike earthly kings who would ride in on a horse (a symbol of strength, military might, and conquest), Jesus came riding on a donkey (a beast of burden, a symbol of a lowly servant)
True greatness is in humility. It’s in taking the position of a servant, bearing others’ burdens, serving others, helping them out of all limitation and hindrance and into liberty and boundlessness.
