They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” John 12:13 (NKJV)
Praise is about the Lord – what He has done and is doing. It’s not singing or talking about what we think or feel basing on what we are going through.
In our theme Scripture the words that the crowd used in praise to the Lord are quoted from Psalms 118:26 – “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD”.
Praise that’s focused on the Lord is based on His Word. It’s declaring His Word.
Praise the Lord proclaiming what His Word says He has done. Sing or talk about the Redemption, Faithfulness, Mercy, and Goodness of God that Scripture reveals.
