1-3 God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him.
We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in seastorm and earthquake,
Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us. Psalm 46:1-3 (MSG)
Sometimes we go through things in our daily lives and they seem to overwhelm us. Its is so tempting to look at what is going on and be afraid. The Bible says that God is a safe place to hide. This means that God already knows that at some point in our journey on earth, there will be challenging situations and he has already provided a safe place to hide. The challenges we face do not surprise Him, He only expects us to cling to Him, because He’s our refuge and strength in trouble, He’s a rock to which we can run and hide.
You may feel like you on the edge of the cliff, you’ve been pushed to the wall, the next shortage will run you bankrupt, that child is irredeemable, I got good news, in God you can stand fearless knowing God is fighting for you. That situation will not swallow you; it won’t be your end but God will see you through, just keep on holding on.
If you have been on the lake and or in the air you can’t help but sometimes feel hopeless knowing that there’s nothing you can do to control the circumstances around you. You hope that the people steering the vessel you occupy are competent and you pray for safe arrival to your destination. It is in moments like this that you have to remember that God’s got you. He will not allow any harm to reach you. Sometimes the weather changes during the flight or voyage and you feel your heart melting, I know I have felt like that before but standing on God’s word gives us confidence that that too will pass because the God of Angel Armies protects us.
