Then fix this firmly in your minds: You’re going to be in deep mourning while the godless world throws a party. You’ll be sad, very sad, but your sadness will develop into gladness. John 16:20 (MSG)
Beginning from John 16:20 Jesus was preparing the disciples for the moments of trial they were about to face as He was going to be crucified, die, and be buried. They would not see Him for a little while. This was the moment of sadness and deep mourning. In our daily lives when the demands, hardships, and trials of life overwhelm us, we no longer see Jesus. We no longer see help or hope. Then we are discouraged and downcast. But weeping endures only for the night for Joy always comes in the morning. Psalms 30:5.The disciples’ sadness turned to gladness when they saw the Risen Lord again. When we turn our eyes to the Lord even in the midst of trouble and suffering we are encouraged and lifted up. Then we are filled with the assurance and joy of knowing that the one who conquered and controls everything is present with and for us.
