For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. Philippians 4:8 (AMPC)
Life whether lived in victory or defeat is a mind affair.
Fix your mind on life and you will live. Fix your mind on death and that’s what you will experience. Set your mind on things that discourage, depress and you will not only be discouraged and depressed but will go around a discouragement and depression to others you get into contact with. If there’s anything that needs fixing more than any other in this world it’s the mind of man. A lot has been invested in fixing our lives bodies, relationships, environment, economy, and climate but until the mind is fixed it’s all in vain. Because the mind is the drive and control factor of everything that gets to happen in this life.
To fix right our mind the Wisdom of God tells us to fix it on things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious–the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Philippians 4:8(MSG)
